Important Security Update: Changes to Customer Portal Access

At Advance2000, we are committed to safeguarding your data and ensuring the highest level of security for our services. As part of our ongoing efforts to combat social engineering techniques and protect your sensitive information, we will be implementing new workflows starting April 1, 2024.

What is social engineering?

Social engineering is a manipulative technique used to deceive individuals into revealing confidential information, granting unauthorized access to systems, or engaging in actions that may compromise security. It relies on psychological tactics, exploiting human vulnerabilities such as trust, curiosity, and fear.

What is changing?

Effective April 1, 2024, we will no longer add contacts to the customer portal (https://myportal.advance2000.com) for users who are not already configured contacts when they call the service desk. This proactive measure is aimed at enhancing security and mitigating the risks associated with social engineering attacks.

What is required to have a user added?

To have a user added as a contact within the customer portal, the following methods will apply:

  • Only Portal Admins have the authority to add users via the customer portal.
  • Portal Admins are responsible for requesting and approving new user additions within the customer portal.
  • If a user contacts our call center and is not listed as a contact in the portal, they will be directed to reach out to their designated Portal Admin to facilitate their addition to the customer portal.

Please note: For security reasons, Advance2000 will not disclose the names of Portal Admins. Users are advised to contact their company manager for assistance in getting their account created.
